WHAT ARE SUPERFOODS

Updated: Jan 13, 2023

Superfoods are those foods which, due to their nutritional features and chemical density, are considered a source of countless benefits.

These functional foods or nutraceuticals are divided into two broad categories:

  1. superfruit, which includes foods with antioxidant properties plus guarana and ginseng (which instead possess invigorating properties);

  2. supergrains, i.e. quinoa, amaranth, sesame and teff.

Choosing a healthy and balanced diet can also be important in preventing the onset of some diseases, including cardiovascular ones.
