The past 7 years have been the hottest ever.

The hot and dry conditions then led to the outbreak of numerous fires which resulted in an increase in pollution and a reduction in air quality due to the high amount of carbon emissions.


Carbon dioxide concentrations and methane levels have risen to unprecedented values.


THE CONSEQUENCES FOR HUMANS


This type of change does not just have a strong impact on the planet. Mankind also suffers the consequences. One cannot think otherwise.


Some consequences of mankind’s activity might include:

  • Increased asthma due to atmospheric pollution. Since the situation does not seem to be improving, it is expected that climate change will also impact pollen concentrations.

  • Air pollution also leads to skin ageing of the entire body. It creates dryness, fragility, and opacity in the skin.

  • Smog can cause redness, burning, and dry eyes.

Chia seeds are part of the food group defined as superfoods because of the health benefits they bring.

Superfoods are attributed to energising, tonic, and antioxidant properties. These are derived from nutritional characteristics or from overall chemical concentration.


WHAT ARE CHIA SEEDS?

Chia seeds are the fruit of an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the mint family. The plant is native to Guatemala.

It’s possible to extract up to 25-30% oil from chia seeds. In addition to the excellent lipid production, chia seeds are also used for the extraction of soluble fibre.


This is a dietary fibre that dissolves in aqueous solutions. It is rich in health benefits and chelating properties and is great for cholesterol.


There are no interactions between chia seeds, drugs, or other substances.

Chia seeds can also be useful in the kitchen.
